Hi,

I am trying to restore an old magnavox console and I have a micromatic vinyl player that goes with it. The issue is the vinyl player doesnt spin. After some work I could get this to work partially. Its not an electrical issue but a mechanical issue and the old grease needs to be cleaned. I was thinking of using WD40 instead of alcohol. I cant find phono-lube but would "Super Lube-21030 Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease" be good enough and Zoom oil. I presume I use grease where things slide and oil for everything else because the manual doesn't really say what parts need oil or grease.

I also noticed that the springs have lost their strength. Its possible the grime doesn't make them work well but how do I replace these springs if I need to or is there a way to reuse them?.
