Over the weekend, I was exploring the internet. Auction sites came up and after several minutes of checking out the items on various ones, I found this 1929 Mills Hi-Boy, Model 801. With further research, I learned it was the first selectable coin phonograph that Mills made. The interesting Ferris Wheel mechanism is intriguing to me, so I had to have it. I was the winning bidder. Now to get it home from Illinois! This picture is from Donley's auction catalog.

YAY! A wonderful find! Congratulations! I wish it was sitting in my workshop, waiting for me. A true classic that is nearly impossible to find! A friend, gone now, had a Ferris wheel model but I don't remember it being so beautiful. I am happy it has found a good home with you! Hope the shipping goes well and smoothly. Hope to hear more about it!

Thanks! I'm anxious to dive into it and see what it will take to get it going. I found a You tube video someone posted of how this model works. Check it out.

TNX Ken, we are already looking for a wall box to connect to it. I've wanted one of these since I was a teenager... just kidding. It seems like we've been on the lookout that long.

Congratulations! It's very hard to find one of these intact.

Russie,

Here's a picture of my Mills, I had it for a few years in storage and realized I would never find room in the
house for it (way to many machines already) so I sold it last year. It was restored but always had a problem with
continual cycling through the records.

I made new program cards, they fit in the center window for selecting the record you want. If you want I can send
you the artwork file.

Chuck, NICE! Looks clean and crisp. Yes, having that card available would be nice. Are they the same as a Troubadour? I have the ones for that. What I would like too, is a nice photo of the Mills decal that is on the cabinet opposite the coin entry side. Russie
