''Last Date'' by Floyd Cramer and '' I'm Sorry'' by Brenda Lee. There are lots of others that I have a soft spot for but these two songs are the ones that do it for me.

Lay a Little Lovin' on me by Robin McNamara. It really put me in a great mood. So upbeat and fun.

I have many great songs that I've loved over the years.. deeply. Recently I heard an old Hank Snow tune: Married by the Bible Divorced by the Law It's the kind of lyric that will put a tear in your eye.. esp when he gets to the part about the kids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rLwjYdwL68

rocketeer wrote: "Hymne à l'amour" by Edith Piaf. It was written for the death of her lover Marcel Cerdan in an airplane crash while on his way to her. There are a number of her recordings capable of stirring emotion in the listener, especially if the listener understands what is behind the song. "La vie en rose" and "Non, je ne regrette rien" are two more.
"With Pen in Hand" by Vicki Carr is another.
Larry Did you know that Vicki Carr also did that Edith Piaf "Hymne à l'amour" Called in English: If you love me, really love me.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0n1LEDnfEI

I'll go way out on a limb, because it's very hard to beat any of these great favorites.... Lately I have been bitten by KPOP. New Korean music. Reminds me of the 60s here in the US, as they are very successful these days, however all the time being under the constant threat from the north, I was struck to hear what a contrast in emotion I felt when listening to this innocent compilation...."SOGYEOKDONG" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHu39FE ... g&index=12 Doug

"Sure On This Shining Night", by Morten Lauridsen. Chaconne, Carl Nielsen. The middle movement of several of Beethoven's late piano sonatas.

since the holidays are coming up, here is a song that when it comes over the whole house sound system during the holidays, i have stop whatever i am doing and sit back. i sit back and think of all the memories, as there are too many to list here, of christmas times when i was a kid in the 70's. the detail of the music brings out all the wonderful and most magical memories, experiences, and everything that had to do with christmas when i was little. christmas was one of the most enchanting and mystical times of the year, with all the lights, music, model trains, snow, kid activities at church and school, and all the get togethers. if i could only do it again thru those eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKoQvY58rGosteve

What Becomes of the Broken Hearted. First done by Jimmy Ruffin, but this version with Joan Osborne kicks it out of the park. From movie about the Funk Brothers. If this doesn't speak to you, check for a pulse! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA0GcXV2njY

I kinda prefer the original Ruffin version... but that's only probably because it was the first I heard and became familiar with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQU4sIn96M4I do really like Osborne's hit: "What if god was one of us?" That always made me think.... a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gx1Pv02w3Q

Who would not be moved by Eadith Piaf's "No regrets" .. or more exactly: "No, I do not regret anything" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGx0RJ3WzrA

There are many honky tonk and country songs which always slightly wet my eyes, it's quite amazing how much common man problems are similar, even on the other side of the Earth. "One That Got Away" by Desert Rose Band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2F6JLUkuVE - quite a sad story... Amazing how music can resonate with memories - when I listen to Alan Jackson I still see my high school and old flame... First neotraditional country artist I found. Too bad it brings only sadness and nostalgia.
