The radio chassis needs its electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced as well as checking the tubes. See here for advice on how to go about that: https://www.antiqueradio.org/begin.htmWhat is broken on the turntable? It may be repairable.

The tone arm is broken and the spindle is bent, as shown in the last photo. I'll pull the chassis and locate the caps before buying tubes, and thanks for the guidance.

The spindle might be OK -- they are made with a bent shape like that. But indeed, your tone arm looks a bit distressed! You may be able to find a replacement tone arm or the whole record changer assembly if you place a want ad in the classified section here.
Did you take a stab at replacing capacitors yet? Tubes are often still good, so you may not need to buy any replacements for those.

i just finished a unit exactly like this. took me 3 months. The phonograph is a real bear. you can get the belt and drive wheel and needle. the crystal cartridge on the other hand, I'm still looking, pray yours is good. Forget the Sam's Photofact for this set, it is useless. the Philco manual is golden. Steve Johnson schematics has it. sorry i don't have the link. As for the radio, there are several capacitors that YOU CANNOT REPLACE. you will mess up your whole world. they look like resistors, but they are in fact capacitors. Also, there are wire wound caps, wax coated. Do Not change those either. Do replace the wax paper caps and the black caps with multiple stripes and the filter caps. Also put some machine oil down the holes top and bottom of all your IF transformers several times to loosen them up. The cores on these are made of fired clay and have a straight slot in them. They seize up, and when you try to align, they break. its a nightmare. Feel free to message me if you are going to tackle this radio and have questions. i just delivered it last week and it is pretty fresh in my little brain.

I have the same model but I am unable to find the needle. Do you know what kind of needle it takes?
