Hi! I have an old wooden Veneered box of an Executone intercom. Probably from the late 1950's. The Power cord is in bad shape. It is a rubber or vinyl cord two conductor and not polarized. The cord is brown and the plug end is molded and part of the cord itself. Does anyone know where I COULD find a similar replacement? Thank you! Dave

If nothing else, buy a cheap extension cord and cut one end off.
Most vendors that sell electronics parts also have replacement cords. Sal has them....ad at the right. Radiodaze tends to be "one stop shopping" for vintage stuff

Go to a thrift store and buy a cheap lamp with a similar cord. These cords were standard for decades (and may still be) on household table lamps.

If you haven’t pulled the trigger on the eBay link, bear in min that that one has a two pin terminal which will be removed and the length is only 6’. Grand Brass has a wide assortment of colors, 8 and 10 foot lengths as well as braided rayon insulated if you want to go fancy and of course, molded plugs.

It used to be that you could go to the hardware store and buy an extension cord and just cut the socket off. You would get a cord that looked just like your old cord. But extension cords these days are made with heavier gauge wire and do not look the same. But I expect that they are safer than they used to be.

+1 Old lamps and funky appliances are the best source for authentic. But I generally prefer a polarized cord that just looks old.
