Hello all...
Is there a resource for grille cloth board? I have a Philco 16B cathedral that needs both the cloth and the board. I also need to figure out what the original cloth looked like.

Hello Don, this photo is pretty much a match as to what to look for in a grille cloth.

I have a 16B cath that looks much the same. Awhile back I helped another ARF member out with his board, at the moment I can't remember the the name of the board he used. but it can be bought at a craft store like Michael's,it is about 1/8 thick fiberboard black in color.

Depending on how thick the original board was , I have used the stiff cardboard from old three ring binders.
Just cut away the outside plastic and you have a pretty good board, although it is not big enough for a console.
Cut you opening for the speaker and mounting holes, attach the grill cloth and your ready to install.

I have made the baffles out of thin SRBP, think it was 1.5 to 2.0 mm. Is a nice solid job that wont fall apart again but does take a little machining skill. Roughed the glue surface up with a coarse sander.

Well this post isn't too old so I'll ask here. I just acquired a Philco 16b like this one but the grill cloth had been replaced. It's been a while since I needed grill cloth and just noticed grillcloth.com no longer sells grill cloth, which is a shame as they once had a great selection. Can anyone recommend a place that sells a pattern like in the pic above for this radio?

Try Brett's Old Radio

Has a selection but I would request samples first (about $2): some replacements are too thick and flap on the bass.

Maybe a possibility but pics are misleading:https://www.ebay.com/itm/Radio-Grill-Cloth-Pattern-7-Perfect-for-PHILCO-GE/264059224527?hash=item3d7b2801cf:g:GesAAOSwb15b-tNC:rk:4:pf:0

Great guy to do business with, nothing is too much trouble. Just a customer who has bought from him many times.

Thanks for the reply Gary and the link. I think that pattern is too linear. I'm leading toward the one from Radiodaze.

Was just wondering if there might be a closer match out there somewhere.

The GRC02 is the closest pattern design.
