A great. When I watch the old taped episodes of the Ed Sullivan Show, it amazes me to remember the wealth of talent and ability that there was when she and we were young. I just don't see it being replaced as it once was, as the elders pass.

Used to listen to her singing at her father's church on the radio, before she was ever famous. You could tell then that she had an amazing voice, even in her teens that voice stood out in the choir, and even better doing solos.

Today the local TV news reporters are out in front of that church interviewing people and the current pastor.

Interesting that back in the day when she was so popular, she refused to work for Motown even though she knew Berry Gordy personally, thinking it was "too small" of a company and only important in the local market, therefore not able to promote her world wide. Now, the Motown Museum is presenting a special tribute to Aretha this weekend.

Might just have to take a drive past the church, and the Motown Museum to see those celebrating her career.

Check out the tune "Rock Steady". The undisputed queen of soul. RIP, Aretha.

I got the shivers when she says 'ohhhHHHooohhhhh'. This would sound awesome on an LP with hi-fi sound.

I was just gonna suggest that someone put up a YouTube link in respect to her and for people like me that have heard of her but can't recall the songs she's known for.
