Howdy all. It's been a long time since I've been on the forum. This time it's with a question about mounting speaker cloth to this Westinghouse 780X...in time for Christmas. Best I can figure, the cloth should be glued somehow to the inside of the four bars.is this the case? It seems to make more sense than mounting it to the flat baffle board.

This radio was painted pink for some reason, and I'm working to save it.

Ok I think I may have figured it out. I'm pretty sure that the cloth follows the outward curve of the bars. Perhaps glueing the cloth first to a metal screen will help it stay. Then staple that to the inside.

We'll see if I can get this all done.

Ok so I think I'm almost done on the refinishing. I'll submit a pic when I get the grille cloth figured. I ordered some cloth off ebay,but the color on the eBay page is way different from what I received. So I found some stuff at joann fabrics.
We'll see how it does.

Thanks! I've been a big fan of the movie forever. I get that newbies frequently pop on here wanting to buy that console around this time. I'm not a newbie but, I totally dig the movie. And I kinda saved this one. So happy holidays to everyone!

Yes. This model has the tuning eye. Mine appears to be burned out. I have one on the way though. We'll see if it works.

Cleaned up my studio room and found a good spot for the radio...and put the proper bowling trophy on top.
