Is anyone making a photo finish decal for the zebrawood stripe on the 5-s-319? If I had an original to go by I'd try and make one. The radio I recently acquired had it removed. Thanks

You can buy vinyl wood grain with sticky backing on ebay. I have done this before. Zebra wood grain vinyl may be cut to size and applied using a plastic adhesion promotor. Then when you refinish the cabinet you can tone the zebra wood vinyl and then clear coat over entire cabinet. Looks just like photo finish. The only thing is that it does leave a slight edge you can feel with your finger. Shown in pictures are some radios that I've done using my method to reproduce the photo finish. Its pretty easy and should stay put if done right, you can spray deferent color toners over the vinyl before you cut it out in strips that's if you don't like the color it came in. Hope this helps. It really looks good just like photo finish.

Few more pictures, the adhesion promotor is to be sprayed only on the clean dry surface only that your going to put your pre cut vinyl decal on. Before you tone or clear coat the vinyl decal you made make sure you lightly scuff the surface before you spray adhesion promotor, then you can spray toners and or clear coats. Its works just take your time.

I had one I was making available for free. I had linked to it here. All you had to do was print it, cut it, and attach..

Some guy decided he had to make a buck off my work and started selling them on e-bay. He took my exact file and printed it, don't think he was even trimming them, and was selling them for like $20. His text said he was doing it "for the love of the hobby" or some crap. Yeah right...selling someone else's work.

I pulled the free file. If Fred's method doesn't work, you should be able to scan a small piece of zebrawood veneer, then copy and paste it using paint or some other program into a strip of the appropriate width. It has straight grain, so it's pretty easy to manipulate electronically.

Peter, thanks for the story on z-wood file. The issue I've found is the color of the z-wood on the zenith, versus a piece of wood veneer. Any chance of getting a copy of that file in a PM?
