Yes - I know that is a strange question but a friend of mine has been trying to list a TV on Facebook Marketplace with no luck.

Facebook has told him that it is not an "approved" item.

I am not on Facebook so I was not able to help but told him that I would try and find an answer.

Is anyone familiar with something like this happening when trying to list a TV on Facebook Marketplace?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bryan (radiotvnut) used to sell on Facebook, perhaps he might chime in, or maybe PM him....

I've sold (well, listed) everything on FB classifieds. I have had a couple instances where they deemed it 'against policies' - once an appliance, once a Bakelite radio. Sometimes a word in the title catches their filters. I communicated with FB what it was, and I changed the title somewhat, haven't had trouble since. Some words must be used as code amongst the nefarious types, and I am certainly not up on their lingo.

get rid of this in the title "B&W" and perhaps "TV"

Try... twelve inch, black and white General Electric television.

12" is probably triggering - Knife.
B&W possibly too similar to S&W

Greg.

There is always 2 or 3 listed in my area. Most are simply listed a Old TV, Antique TV or Vintage TV.

This one is listed now as "Old TV - $75"

I belong to a Vintage TV group on FB, and people are still buying these newer sets.

I think the FB filters don't consider that old TV as being eco-frendly and therefore block it's sale. You may have to carefully and strategically reword your title in order to go below the filter's radar. Some people do this, on Ebay, when selling items that Ebay would normally ban.

Try listing a Zenith on Facebook marketplace..
You get flagged for selling guns... LOL
(Zenith is a gun maker somewhere in the world)

We have a rule in our radios for sale group that you have to spell it Zeenith. I got suspended last year for it and actually had to fight them. Another gent I know was suspended last week but also fought it and they apologized.

Silly..

Curious why that is, as I see all kinds of Zenith radios, TVs, watches, helmets, air conditioners, etc. on Facebook Marketplace with Zenith in the title and or body of the listing. Perhaps sometime in the past FB had trouble with the word and has since allowed it?

.

I don't know,
My friend was just suspended last week for using it too often. I also see Zenith on the marketplace. Maybe it is only in private groups? I help moderate a radio selling group and it happens often..

:(

Do like Instrument Fixer suggested. Eliminate the B&W or Black and White from the listing. Now days it seems you might hurt someone's feelings since everyone thinks that everything is racist now days.

Kent.
