That gives me an idea. Buy a wine rack and turn it into a radio! Put lights or LED's into the bottles sticking out. You could even use corks for radio knobs.

I'd love to buy that and pick it up in person, even if the radio was a total write-off. It would be worth every dollar I spent to tell them what imbeciles they are, and why.

You people are so funny .... it's like you have so little going on in your lives that you have nothing better to do than seek out things that get you all emotionally upset, and once found, post them on social media and do the same old sob and moan that you've been doing as long as you've been posting here.
It's life .... get over it.

Honestly John, I'm surprised you're into the hobby at all---based on your comments, you seem to care very little about radio or vintage electronics in general, even commenting that you didn't care if they wound up in the landfill.
If there's no passion behind doing ANY hobby, why even bother? I'd feel like I was wasting my time.

If there's no passion behind doing ANY hobby, why even bother? I'd feel like I was wasting my time. It's amazing how much you can project your own personality onto other people and fail to understand their point of view because yours gets in the way. I've been into antique radios for about 48 years. I still have the first set I ever bought myself. I was in my early teens and I went to pick it up with my dad's farm tractor and a trailer ..... $50 .... was a LOT of money 48 years ago. I am a realist. Not every radio/test equipment piece is saveable, or even worth saving. I also believe in the good ole american way ..... what's yours is yours and you get to do with it as you wish. I also find that those who complain the most are usually NOT the people who will put their money where their mouth is and ante up to save something. They want someone else to do it while they stand around and jaw about it. How about you .... been doing it as long as I have? eh?

Not quite as long, but a little over 30 years.
And I always put my money where my mouth is when it comes to saving things---I have many working pieces of vintage electronics that no one else would want and would otherwise go to the landfill.
Since you believe in the American way, I believe in one of our most cherished rights--freedom of speech. People can do what they wish with their vintage electronics, and I have the freedom to tell them what imbeciles I think they are for doing it. That is something that you seem to have a problem with.

Nope, no problem with free speech at all, so I guess as long as you don't mind labeling people imbeciles, you won't mind being labelled the same by people who don't share your obsessive POV ?

No, not at all....as long as they remember that it's reciprocal.

The best way to deal with people that want to mind your business is to simply disregard their worthless opinion and keep doing your thing and living your life by your own standards. If it makes them upset then that is their problem and not mine. Now if you'll excuse me I want to go find a tube radio to convert to a wine rack...

News flash! There are other points of view and just because you disagree with them does not make them any less valid.
