I plan to try using Timbermate as a grain filler on my next project. Ive seen various colors used, some with better results than others. My cabinet is predominantly walnut. I normally go over the cabinet with Minwax Golden Oak stain before sealing. My concern is that this cabinet has had a small veneer repair piece put in and I don't want the edges of the repair piece to show more than necessary.
Would it be best to use the walnut Timbermate or the neutral?
Thanks!

Using walnut timbermate or neutral in mine opinion doesn't make much deference because I always stain in medium dark walnut, once you stain the wood the grain filler, it normally absorbs the stain in the same way without much of any difference in color. Since your going with golden oak I would use neutral. You can always use a spray toner in a darker tone to help hide a veneer repair.
