Hello friends. I just acquired a General Electric (GE) 862 AM radio. It is in a plastic case. I have never cleaned or restored a plastic case. This case luckily has no dents, scratches, breaks or dings in it. It is turquoise and white in color. I would like to make it shine again. I have the Novus 3 step plastic polish but how would I apply it? Maybe a buffer? Does anybody have any steps or procedures that I can follow? I will also need a schematic and parts list if possible. Thank you for any help.

Jonathan

Clean the case first. If possible remove the chassis and speaker. Gently wash with water with a few drops of dish soap. Test the dial markings as sometimes they can be washed or rubbed off! Be gentle and rinse well.

If there are no scratches, just buff it using the Novus 1 with a soft cotton cloth. I like to use old T shirts. Hand buff it until the Novus drys and is removed. Repeat in needed. Don't press hard.

I only use a soft foam buffer with my drill if I have scratches to buff out with Novus 2.

Greg.

Edit: Yes... a mild solution of Dawn dish soap is a great degreaser.
Lately I have been using liquid hand-soap.
