Onetime session player and one of the earliest female country crossover artists, (tied with Patsy Cline of whom her voice is strongly reminiscent) died in her sleep in January 2019 of congestive heart failure among other things:

(shrug) 1. I just saw it on a retrospective on PBS the other night followed by a black page w white text dedicated to her and

2. I didn't see anybody else posting abt it back then.
