 Post subject: sparton 835 eye tube question

Have a Sparton 835 with the extremely rare VG-1 eye tube.
Tube still glows bright orange, but has the typical chrome colored buildup on the inside of the tube.
Some kind of metallic residue.
Does not seem to block the orange glow surprisingly.


Seems like these eye tubes are impossible to find anymore.
