Must be at least 50-60 years old.
Found it in our attic and put it for online auction, and to my great surprise, there was immediate interest. So, I would like to know what I am in fact selling :)
(Here is something to laugh at for most of you: I thought it was a manual film rewinder ...)
Thanks for any ideas!

I remember seeing something like this in an Allied Radio catalog in the mid-50's that used a turntable to drive a simple tape deck mechanism. The picture below is not the same model as yours but you get the idea.

I think the disk on the bottom of yours fits over the spindle of a manual turntable. I think the tape heads are under the object in the center. I'm not sure what sort of electronics were used with the unit.

The phono add-ons can play through a magnetic phono input.

They'll play even better through a Tape Head input, which a lot of amplifiers and preamps of the 1950s through mid-60s had.
