The chassis restoration of this radio can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=350754I removed the bezel and cleaned inside and out of the cabinet. I then stripped it and wiped it down with acetone. It won't be till later next week till I get my new filler so it'll be a week before another posting. In the meantime I'll steam out as many dents as possible.

OK, it's been awhile. I had to do 3 other projects that came up. Back to this one.
I then sanded down the cabinet with 220 grit and cleaned off the dust. I then applied Timber Mate Ebony as a grain filler to the top and the front face. After letting it dry overnight, I sanded the grain filler off. I then vacuumed and used a tack rag to clean the cabinet.
I'm in the process of applying several coats of sealer.

Today I sanded down the sealer coats with 800 grit sandpaper. I then shot 1 coat of Semi-Gloss clear where the decals are located. This ensures that the area behind the decal stays clear and not "foggy" from sanding the sealer coats.
When dry I applied the decals. BTW, I got them Radio Daze. Worked perfectly.
Then I fogged on several coats of semi-gloss over the decals. I then sprayed on 5 coats of semi-gloss over the cabinet. I'll let it dry overnight. Then on to the trim.

That came out beautiful. I've used Radio Daze decals on a few radios. My first attempt didn't come out well because grown men don't read directions. Next I followed there directions to the letter and it was a breeze. I love working on the small wood cabinets.

Thanks. Small wooden cabinets are nice to work on, that's for sure.

I sanded down the cabinet and masked it off for the trim. I then shot the trim.
