I have swapped sockets on 7JP4's as the pins all too often are loose from the bakelite. I solder a piece of thin wire to each lead coming off the picture tube then it is easy to fish the wires into the new socket.

As Ralphie said: Fuuuudge! But it didn't some out that way... Sorry brother. I woulda used up 6 month's worth of cuss words right then and there.
As long as the wires that you need didn't break off at the glass you should be able to fix it. Clear the base of solder, put a dab of goop on the base, thread the wires into it and solder. Somewhere around here I have seen some recommendations for what goop to use. Make sure it is non acidic for sure and can take some temp.
Good luck on saving the tube. That looks like it was a nice set.

My 2 cents' worth... l snip those wires down to about a quarter inch in length. Then l solder thin wire to the stubs about 6 inches in length, then pull them through the pins. This extra space gives you the ability to see what you are doing. I put a ring of epoxy on the glass and push the base to where it had been....and tape it until cured. Then l solder and snip excess. I remove that old glue, may not be necessary. Craig. p.s., sorry about the oops......

Looks to me that several wires were broken at the glass. There is a method you can try that Phil Nelson used. Make sure to clean the glass with strong alcohol or similar so the RTV and epoxy stick well. Also get the pins to line up with the correct wires. https://www.antiqueradio.org/CapehartFa ... vision.htm

Always a bad day when you goof and break something you really like... I've done a couple of CRT rebases before.... Radio Shack used to sell single strand phono hookup wire.... I'd strip that add about 3" to each leads end by wrapping and soldering and use that to make threading the base on easier and the electrical connections more secure.

Ouch, I hate it when that happens... and yes, it happens to the best of us... When I was 12 or 13, my cat jumped up on my chest of drawers knocking off one of my favorite radios, a little GE AA6 model 955, busting it to bits.... I was quite torn up about it...but I don't think I cussed... -Steve

There are only five leads in this type of CRT and they all spear to be intact. I've had pretty good luck cleaning out the pins with solder wick and carefully lining up the base without having to add extension wires. I used permatex windshield silicone. Epoxy sets up very hard and may crack the neck when it heats up and expands during operation

I know someone who could fix that cabinet so you couldn't tell it had ever been dropped. He's in Australia though...
I'd love to get my hands on that TV, even in that condition.

That white foggy stuff in the CRT tip-off has the look of having gone to air.
Sorry to say

One thing that upon seeing this a second time seems odd is that the damage is on top...did you drop something else on it or do you happen to be in the habit of carrying things upside down?

I was carrying it right side up but when it slipped out of my hands it rotated top down onto the basement floor.

I share Rodgers frustration. My wife and I are extreme Packer fans!

That is very unfortunate. I've also read that the bakelite is often quite fragile to the point where shipping and transporting these sets can be risky, without removing the chassis first to alleviate the weight. Hopefully most of the parts inside are still alright.
If by chance you ever want to sell one of the standard front knobs from it (e.g., volume or contrast) I am in the market for one!
