You don't specify what model you need, but the 230E Service Manual is online:

https://www.vintageshifi.com/repertoire ... Manual.pdf

Also, H-K repeated the 230 model number on both tube and solid state gear.

Other 230's - the Ballad 230 in Sams 496-10
T-230 in Sams 497-8
TA230 in Sams 479-9

I have never had, nor have seen any of these MHF manuals, but, specifically need whatever is available for a Harmon Kardon, model 230A, like schematic and parts list. I noticed that model is not listed in Sams, so any help would be appreciated. Thanking you, Carl-Louisiana

The MHF (Modular Hi Fi), as well as several other series, were published each month by Sams, with the cooperation of the manufacturer. I do seem to recall that Sams would only publish if a minimum number (say 100,000) were produced. Yours may be one of the smaller number. I'm posting a couple pics of a MHF-161 (just sold my last 160) for reference.
It would help if you could show a pic of yours, or at least an approximate age; as Brian mentioned, they have a few '230' models. The MHF-160 would be 1979. Some of the numbers he posted were in the 60's I believe.
Dan

My investigation shows that the 230A was listed in the MHF-160, as well as the 230, and 230E series. If I have to purchase the whole volume, I will.Carl-Louisiana

I have it, though I don't like scanning these, the small print and paperback binding make it difficult. The HK230E is shown, schematic says "early version", doesn't include dial lamps or stereo LED shown in the version posted above. Does show an LED pointer light which I don't find on the newer schematic. Other details may vary, but at first glance they're pretty close. I can scan the schematic if you think it's closer than the later version.

Go ahead and scan it the best you can Tom.Not really sure where the model 230A falls in that series; older or newer. PM me with your cost also, and what payments you accept. Thanks, Carl-Louisiana

Email me for the schematic scan. There's also a later version which appears to be the same as the previous one posted. tbavis(at)rochester(dot)rr(dot)com
