i just found this radio looking for something else in my junk stash.

this radio was at my grandmother's house and i know it was in service until mid 80's.
when i was a kid i saw it working.

Years later i found it and took it home to repair it. i remember it powered up, but it had no sound. also the cone the speaker was broken

time has passed and never reapired it.
in 2010 i had it on a shelf and it fell because of a big eartquake.with this fall the ballast tube broke ( the metal one on the right) it looks complete but is broken.

I have all the knobs for this radio. the cabinet is in good shape, but the finish is ugly. also the back is missing. Also is missing one tube ( maybe i pulled it to repair another radio, but i don't remember.

Anyone knows what model it is? tube lineup is typical for an AA5
anyone knows where i can ge a schematic?
also, the ballast tube will be a problem

Looks like you need a ballast that will drop about 100 volts at 0.15 amps.

Any 5" speaker can be installed. Ideally it would be 3.5 ohms impedance, but an 8 ohm speaker will work very well.

0,15 amps is only for the heaters, actually is 0,2 amps.

i was thinking about dropping voltage with capacitors. i will need 2 caps, one to drop 100v @ .15 amps 50hz and another to drop arond 69V @ 0,05amps

i need 4,7uf and 2.2 uf. i am thinking using a class y safety capacitor.

Never tried this, but it should work
