 Post subject: disassembling bose wave radio

Hello,
Bought this Bose wave radio (no CD) at a sale and it works OK except the on-off button is very erratic. I'm thinking cleaning would fix it but how do you remove the control panel/module from the cabinet. I see 4 plastic clips on the inside of the cabinet under the panel and I pried on them gently but no results. I'm afraid to use too much force for fear of breaking something.

ARF member Flinx did a good writeup on teardown and repair here:

About halfway down the page where he gets into the display, you'll see how he removed the control panel. That might not get you right at the switches, but maybe to the point you can inject some cleaner at least. Perhaps a few more screws will be found on the underside, but be careful if there's loose membrane/key/spring parts instead of soldered-in separate switches.
