I have aquired one of these units from my parents house and have a few questions
the turntable doesn't have a cartridge or needle how do I find the proper replacement ?
Also it appears that the W means the cabinet is Walnut. It needs to be refinished is this solid walnut of veneer?
Can it be sanded to remove the bad stain that is covering it without sanding thru anything?
The unit seems to work at least the stereo plays and the turntable turns.
I believe they bought this unit brand new not sure what year it is but I' guessing late 50's.

Cabinet is fairly thick walnut veneer on top of solid core. Motorola sold furniture 'grade cabinets. Why does it need refinishing? As long as you dont have dark black water stains you should be ok with less drastic measures. Take photos of damage and ask in the cabinet refinishing forum here.

Turntable is V-M with Sonotone 8T cartridge. Available from Gary at Voice of Music in Benton Harbor, MI. The Motorola 3 channel amps are nice sounding. There is a FB group for Motorola Drexel stereos.
