Has anyone else had an experience with Bob’s Antique Radios? I am asking because my recent experience was not positive. He also does not respond to emails.
On 13August I placed an order for some capacitors. On 15August I realized I had missed another value of caps and placed another order.
Well, I subsequently received the order of the 15th but never received the order of the 13th. I have to submit to Paypal for a refund today before the transaction goes stale but I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience with orders from him.
I did attempt to contact him by email on the 24August letting him know I received the later order but I was still waiting for my first order but there has been no response.
Based on this transaction, I will not be ordering from him again. Had he been courteous enough to reply and attempt to correct the problem I may have kept his website link for future use but failure to ship an order and further failure to answer an email inquiry is not a minor error.

This is odd, I've bought from Bob for years and never had any problems. I've known him for decades.

He has always been helpful and courteous . I'm not sure what has happened.

I hope things get resolved as he is a reputable parts supplier.

I am in the process of requesting a refund through Paypal and wasting no additional time on the matter. If he is unable or unwilling to reply to an email I am done. All he would have to do is check his Paypal receipts to verify I forwarded funds and get the caps off in the mail. I don't deal with people that won't communicate. I sent a copy of the Paypal transaction in my email that he would be able to use for verification two weeks ago.

Never had a problem with Bob's. Maybe send him a reminder?

Did you try calling him? Like Steve I've had many dealings with Bob and have always been satisfied. I've met him a few times at IHRS meets as well.

From him webpage:

I sent an email to address the issue two weeks ago and have not received a reply. I have already applied for a refund through Paypal which they have forwarded to him. If he won't reply to my email, I don't hold high hopes that he will answer theirs. It will be resolved with Paypal assistance.

fyi… just like all major credit-cards, the PayPal refund process can be initiated up to 180 days.

I've bought parts from Bob for many years, and have had good experiences with him. His yellow capacitors have nice long leads on them, and help simplify parts replacement. My guess is that this is part time for him, so that may explain the confusion. I've met him, and find him to be a nice guy.

Maybe try sending him a regular letter explaining the problem, and I'd bet he would make good on things. Sometimes things just get lost with emails.

Just radios hooked me up as a beginner . Sal with caps later on. It's expensive using just radios bit that guy is great. And you only need one time really on a small radio to get what you need to buy in bulk.

I have known Bob for over 30 years

He is entirely reputable

Maybe an email inadvertently got classified as spam.

Give him a call.

I tried to contact Bob a couple of months back both by email and phone but received no answer. From my understanding, Bob has been in very poor health and this lack of contact may be a result of it. If Bob is currently incapacitated then a message explaining this on his website and answering machine would be helpful.

Google...This is a bit ominous.
