Hey everyone!! First post here so I hope I’m doing it in the right location! Just became the happy owner of what I believe to be a Curtis Mathes Super Audio 72 but it does not match the model number of the other examples I have found online. I have attached the Serial Card with all relevant information. Model # 5529A . I would love to learn as much as I can about this product. I want to fully refurbish it, it currently turns on but only the AM channel works for the radio (with a lot of noise in the background) , the turn table does not turn, the recording deck turns in the backwards direction but not forwards and not fast enough in either direction. This will be my first time working with vintage electronics in this capacity but I’m handy and have a basic understanding for how these things work. Any and all info is greatly appreciated, and if anyone can locate the service manual for this model I would be very appreciative!

Thanks!!

The chassis number for the tuner / radio will be rubber stamped on the rear apron or on top of the chassis.
Example: 30C shown below. Sams Photofact Set-626 Folder-7

Thankfully I don't know anything about the tape player. lol

Ask about the changer in the Phonographs forum…

For what it's worth, I found a picture virtually identical to your's here... https://www.curtis-mathes.com/apps/phot ... =197390220

They referred to it as the Curtis Mathes Viking Console.

Well done, Curtis. I don't have the navigation skills to find anything on that site, but my name isn't Curtis, either. :D
A Danish Modern Viking, well worth the effort.
I would have trouble finding 6 feet 1/2" of wall space for it.
